Brandy made from recycled vuvuzelas

Long after our eardrums had recovered from the World Cup – the vuvuzela is still making its presense felt in local newspaper advertising. Spotted this in the Cape Times this morning.
Will the vuvuzela blend?

Look what they have done to our beloved vuvuzela. Why, oh why would you waste the potential of the sweet harmonious tune that our national horn gifts us in the name of a YouTube clip?
It’s shocking! Not safe for sensitive viewers.
Don’t you just wish your advertising was as annoying as the Vuvuzela?

No World Cup news seems to be able to overshadow the global hype around the Vuvuzela.
As far as a brilliant marketing idea goes – somebody at SAFA, or the LOC, have completely outdone themselves with this one. Who knew that you could brand a country by using a very loud horn thing? It’s the ultimate ‘user-generated’ global ad campaign – that people pay be be involved with. Just goes to show – the very best ideas are simple and tap into your natural behaviour when you are totally pissed.
