Porky Hefer’s ‘Cratefan’ – the most beautiful object in South Africa
Posted on 10. Feb, 2011 by Jonathan Cherry in Design
We were asked by the guys at Design Indaba to nominate what we thought was the most beautiful object in South Africa for 2010.
The choice for us was clear considering the amount of traffic this object generated on our site and that we personally think it’s an exceptional piece of commercial public art made with used Coke crates – so we nominated Porky Hefer’s ‘Cratefan’ that was brought to life for the 2010 World Cup. [It was that and because our nomination for the &Union Steph Weiss beer was rejected]
If you agree with our nomination – you can vote for it.
Casting the net open for South Africans themselves to answer this all-important question, the public is invited to vote for the actual winner via SMS. To vote, SMS the code before the nomination to 34180. SMSes cost R2. By correctly voting for the winner, you could win a R10 000 shopping voucher at the Design Indaba Online Shop.
So SMS the code: MBOISA 3 to 34180.
