Starbucks should be ashamed of themselves, if they are indeed "using" the same people they are claiming to help with their "Love" project. I love coffee as much as the next guy(or girl), but I refuse to be a part of something this dehumanizing. We, as consumers, need to do our homework before we start associating ourselves with businesses.

If you guys want a real eye opener watch "The Corporation" or "The World According to Monsanto".

For the record, it is a bullsh** PR campaign from Starbucks from the outset, but how do you really know. What it boils down to is it doesn't matter where we live, the government is out to work for "The Corporation". The corporate lobbyists even make the policy that screws everyone.

Developing countries do need help but not from us. They actually need us to stop buying what their exporting because a lot of the time these countries, especially African ones manufacture crops for export only to buy cash crops from everyone else. They incur a loss but often bull*** organizations like world bank make them....

Grrrrrr.....

Watch For the Love of Water, and The World Water Wars for a nice overview of how we actually don't help.

This makes me really angry, i need to stop ranting though.

Wow, Starbucks will contribute US $0.05 for every contribution (up to 1 million contributions). Let's see, that's 1 000 000 x 0.05 = OMG! $50 000.

Starbucks earned $150 million during the quarter that ended in late September. Net revenue was $2.42 billion

Thanks Starbucks, for trying to save Africa from AIDS with your generosity. If I'd known it was so cheap, I would've paid the money myself a long time ago.

Black Gold is a complete eye-opener!! wow, it makes you question where all our supermarket food comes from and what it is exactly. Developed countries sure know how to abuse every single situation to gain profit.
