Spin NYC: A table tennis bar
Posted on 13. Nov, 2009 by Jonathan Cherry in Branding
In Seattle, we lived over the road from a Sit ‘n Spin which was a laundry. They didn’t offer table tennis, but on a Friday night a dance floor and cheap bar magically emerged and doing your laundry all of a sudden was turned into a pretty rad thing to do. All of which has nothing to do with Spin NYC, a table tennis night club in New York.
SPiN New York is a 13,000 square foot table tennis social club on Park Avenue in Manhattan’s Flatiron District. The club offers unparalleled table tennis courts with Olympic quality cushioned flooring and 13 individual tables, including a stadium-like center court. In addition, SPIN New York houses a pro shop, lounge, bar, private room sponsored by Fred Perry and over a dozen internationally known professional coaches and players who are available for private and group instruction.
Stylin’, crisp ping pong tables, a cocktail bar, lounge area, games that don’t involve a video screen and a controller – what’s not to love.
Alas, it’s probably one of those concepts that’ll only work in New York and would totally bomb here. but we like it a lot.

[...] Spin NYC: A table tennis bar | Cherryflava How cool of an idea is this? I lived in China for a while where I would go to foot massage parlors and karaoke palaces. I’m surprised that this didn’t originate in China though. But this is surely something that I could see myself doing. Share and Enjoy: [...]

Woah! That looks fun!
They\’re starting to do this with beer pong too, but usually mixed in with other games.
Pure pong goodness could be real fun!

Sure it’s fun, but only to those who know how to play. For beginners, usual will have tough time with it and admire others who play well. Just like the one i saw in youtube the other day. The player really crazy! They looks like matrix actors, make me hard to believe!
