Resident Evil 5 launch at a Blood Donation Clinic
Posted on 05. Mar, 2009 by Jonathan Cherry in Branding
When slashing limps off zombies with a chainsaws is considered to be wicked entertainment by somebody – then what better place to attend a launch party for a game that fuels your deepest fantasies for gore than a blood donation clinic.
Donating blood isn't a requirement to attend, but those who do will
have a chance to win Resident Evil 5 Blood Drive collectibles like
posters and bumper stickers, copies of the game, or a special edition
red Xbox 360.
Always great to some thought going into a launch event rather than just hosting the thing in a hall with soggy sausage rolls and cheap booze. [thanks Motheo]
Watch out for the next Grand Theft Auto version being launched locally at Maverick's, sponsored by Beretta and Pontiac, with a complimentary KY gel bathtub and sherbet lollies. Yeah baby!

Very nice. There are also a few scheduled promotions at certain Best Buy stores: http://kotaku.com/5145249/zombies-invading-best-buy-for-resident-evil-5-launch
In a similar vain, Lionsgate uses a blood drive to promote each new Saw movie.
This was last year’s: http://www.cinematical.com/media/2007/09/sawivbd2.jpg

Thanks JW. Seems like a bit of a Hollywood horror trend.
