Beijing Olympics brand blitz

Minibeijing

Unlike the World Cup in Germany not too long go, we haven't picked up on many innovative marketing stunts during this year's Olympic games - so it's with some relief that we now stumble across a few.
Mini [apparently on purpose] have created these bike-powered Minis to promote themselves during the tournament. The same could perhaps happen here in 2010, but the half-a-car idea will probably be done out of necessity rather than some clever marketing idea.

Samsungolympics

Samsung gave Olympics' fans a chance to view all of the action from their own "private" alien-like pods.
We're not sure about the enjoyment of using a snug fitting headpod after some sweaty dude has just personally viewed the woman's beach volleyball in the Beijing heat [nasty dot com], but an interesting idea all the same.
