Vodacom and Golf GTi go back to big ideas

Local ‘I wanna watch that again’ TV ads have been few and far between lately. But Vodacom and VW’s Golf GTi perhaps offer a glimmer of hope when it comes to choosing to not feed the dog in the ads breaks but rather stick around and be entertained by the commercial propaganda.
We dig this African dictator guy from the Coke Brrrrr ads, so it’s a pleasure to see him back. [video link]
As we mentioned on the Aden Thomas show this morning, at long last VW Golf GTi is also back with a big budget, big idea production, which has really been missing from the brand for a few years. [video link] World-class production values on this one which take the brand back to ‘The Right Stuff’ years.
The backing track is certainly not the Marilyn Manson version of ‘Sweet Dreams’, but what sounds like a pretty good South African cover of the track.
