Africa still loves the VW Citi Golf

Vwlove

South Africa is one of the only countries in the world where VW Citi Golf's are still sold. The reason, as this holiday snap shows, is that there's clearly still big love for the old thing.

Hopefully that back window has got a bit of reinforcement, otherwise these happy road trippers are about to have a wild life experience they'll never forget.

If we were on the VW marketing team, we'd use this pic as a print ad.

Is it just me or is that elephant REALLY sexually excited by the little golf?

Oh i can see the tagline now...

"Drive a Citi Golf?, you aren't the only big cock who loves it!"

You probably mean it's /the/ only country where they are still sold?

I drive a Citi Golf, and even though it's my second one, and both of them have never given me any problems whatsoever, I do think that it's better to have a more expensive car if you can afford it. The roads are becomming ever more hazardous, and the Citi Golf has a terrible safety record. It would actually be very nice if VW could create a safety-enhanced version.

From the Marketing Department at Volkswagen South Africa, we love this image. We have considered using this image in one of our adverts, however, we were limited by two factors. The first is that we would need to track down the original "owner" of the picture to get their permission to use it. As Volkswagen operates with the highest integrity, using this image without permission is not something we would do or recommend. In addition it would be incredibly difficult if not impossible to track down the owner of the image, as no record exists of who took the shot. Secondly, we wouldn't be able to use the image in print media as the picture size and resolution is not high enough for it to reproduce correctly at the size we would want in either magazines or press.

Wow, that elephant has a giant cock.
