Nando's takes the viral gap

Nandos

South Africa's premium fixed-wing chicken outlet, Nando's, have created a series of Leon Schuster / Jamie Uys hidden camera-type clips. Featuring Steve Peri and JJ Hotstix as two hot flying squad cops on the prowl for offenders.

Thanks to Steve Peri himself for sending this in to us.

South Africa is still peri much far behind the stuff we're seeing slashing its way around markets like the US. Yeah, we know...broadband, broadband and all that....

Example - check out the campaign that just won Best use of Viral Marketing at the BIMAs this year. It's for a serial killer TV show called Dexter. The idea was that you could send the fake newscast to a friend and doctor the chilling details of the killers next victim with your friend's particulars. Wicked.

Check it out here.

But good on Nando's for giving it a go and hopefully getting the tipping point moving.
