I think one of the emerging powerful online advertising options will be in the form of endorsements from video bloggers with large followings. People like Gary Vaynerchuck with his wine blog Wine Library and Tony Brueski with Food at TheTasteSpot.com .

Gorilla marketing in today's economy is everything, marketing to get through the recession!
If your interested in web optimization for your site, there is a free site for uploading video ads for your business, they also have image uploads if you are not yet up to videos. The more sites you can link to the greater your market will be. They have a free link exchange as well.

C'mon - online, it's about ROI, not beauty. Until the big branding ad budgets come to the web, it's going to remain that way. Gimmicky ads that produce results, not compliments. If television advertising were held to the same ROI standards that current web ads were, it's frightening what we'd be exposed to between Rachel Ray TV segments.
Having conducted countless creative tests online, I can say without any hesitation that straight-forward copy and ugly design often wins. Which is terribly painful for a creative, but our ability to provide constant winners that beat our controls keeps the business strong. We toss in a few banners we're proud of during each test panel, along with what we know works... and get our hearts broken every time. That's life online. For now.

Interesting that I came across this post this morning having written about how much I hate banner ads - and especially animated banner ads - in my post yesterday.
I particularly hate the ones that vibrate or move for no other purpose than distracting me from the content of the page and drawing my attention - what I like to think of as "the buzzing fly" ad, it just won't leave me alone, and all I want to do is read the story on the page.
Having said that, I must confess that my curiosity was piqued by the ABSA eyes. It didn't work - I moved my cursor round the block a couple of times wondering what it was advertising until the ABSA logo appeared, and then carried on reading. But it was less invasive and less insistent. I respect that.

Question: Where is the kickass online advertising?
Answer: Blocked by an Ad blocker
And it can stay that way
