It’s a fine evening for a spot of Guerrilla gardening

You’ve heard about ‘flash mobs‘ right? Well, things have moved on from doing silly things. The new social protest trend, powered by global love-affair with the environment, is the planting of flora in an urban space, termed ‘guerrilla gardening‘.
To promote the green credentials of the Budapest Hegyalja Festival in Hungary , Raygun – an ad agency – decided to do a spot of urban planting in the city.
Beginning at 9pm, 4 teams in 4 cities in 1 night took on neglected public spaces to make them brighter, nicer…just more there.
In Budapest, 38 lamp posts were planted with more than 160 sets of flowers. The Budapest
Council had threatened legal proceedings, but that
idea has since been reversed and now the council is
considering offering more soil to the "guerrilla gardeners" to plant
more flowers. [thanks Alex]
Floral protest action may well be considered by the striking teachers in future.
