How do you make sure that your landlord doesn’t hike your rent beyond your very limited financial capacity?

You fill the neighbourhood with hookers, silly.

Officially termed ‘real estate contaminators’ – the presence of prostitutes in a residential area, in theory, devalues the property values and therefore limits rental revenue increases.

Some clever Israelis have identified this little gem and have erected loads of cardboard cut-out call girls around their ‘hood.

We’re not too sure of the thinking here. As far as we know – some countries promote their tourism through areas with a higher concentration of prostitutes.

Somebody tried that same trick a few years ago right here in Greenpoint and promptly made the area attractive enough to develop a World Cup stadium.
