We’re not sure which is more shocking. The fact that we live in a country where we fight a deadly disease like AIDS with Italian food, accompanied by a Gordon Ramsey-style beetroot, rocket and olive oil infused salad – or these German AIDS awareness ads that sport the copy: "It’s easy to lose your head when you’re horny."

There are loads of new AIDS ads cropping up as we approach World AIDS day on 1 December:
There is the controversial LA-campaign, which says AIDS is a gay disease. (if that were true, it means that hardly anyone in this country is straight)
….and the tongue-in-cheek ’sex is fun’ campaign.
All we got is that daft LoveLife thing; that frankly spends millions of rands on advertising, which everyone ignores.
Maybe if we had headless copulation images on the highways we might lose our appetite for garlic and lemon juice.
