Stone Town, Zanzibar.
If pungent aromas of saffron and clove, 40 degree heat or persistent touts don’t remind you of Zanzibar, then the ancient city of Stone Town clearly wasn’t stamped on your itinerary when you hit this island.
It’s on our list of 50 places to visit before you die.
