Wes Anderson was asked by H&M to direct their Christmas 2016 ad campaign – and this ad, called ‘Come Together’ is the result.

Now as many regular readers of this blog will know – we are not the biggest Wes Anderson fans. It’s not that he’s not extremely talented and artful, it’s just that his work makes us want to literally go outside and roll in some mud. For us it’s just too polished, too symmetrical, too neat – which is essentially what we hate about it.

But each to their own.

What is interesting is how brands are seeing a competitive advantage in hiring celebrity directors. You remember Kenzo hiring Spike Jonze for that weird perfume ad? Well – this H&M contribution continues that idea.

The question is now – who is going to ask Quentin Tarantino to handle their next blockbuster?
