We can literally feel Jeremy Clarkson popping a vein at the thought of banning cars from any city centre anywhere on the planet, but the truth is that cars and cities do not mix.
But what if cars were banned from the Cape Town CBD? And the land, infrastructure and energy were put to good use in rather making the city a better place to do business and foster lifestyle communities where people chose to spend quality time in the urban landscape?
Crazy?? Maybe not so much…

Fixed gear trend even hits LA

LA is like Joburg but with an ocean. People live in and love their cars. Highways are second only to Botox in popularity – yet they have a strong fixed gear bike culture. Riding a bike in LA – or Joburg for that matter – is an extreme sport.
Crazy mofos. It’s like the BMX all over again.
