There is something arresting about the slow and deliberate movement of nature. This well acts and reacts like a plant, which for many is something rather alien and unique, sadly.
The Tropism Well uses natural laws of physics to function. Once it has seen you, the gentle bowing motion is created simply by moving water up and down the stem.
Through the synthesis of nature and technology, these structures explore the relationships we have with objects and spaces that surround us on a daily basis. The simple gestural connection that’s created offers a stimulating and symbolic moment.
No robots – just physics.

Microsoft have unveiled ‘interactive TV ads’ using Kinect.
Watching this just makes us wanna kill ourselves, but maybe your experience of the idea is different.
McDonald’s interactive billboard

In Sweden, McDonald’s installed a giant pong game that feisty Swedes could play and win stuff from McDonald’s.
Seems simple enough – Pong, burgers and Swedes. Wonder whatever happened to Stefan Edberg? He’s probably as fat as a house by now.
Heineken interactive mirror

Depending on how many Heinekens you’ve had – almost anything can magically become ‘interactive’. But for once- even sober lovers of Heineken could play with light and magic thanks to an interactive mirror that allowed users to create light art on site with their body.
With stricter alcohol advertising laws on the cards – prepare for more brand-building examples like this for beer companies. We are.
