In 2007 nobody had even heard of Lady Gaga. Then she popped onto the scene with that Poker Face song that was a HUGE hit at Die Danskraal in Durbanville and we haven’t heard the end of it since. But what everybody perhaps thinks is cheesy pop music, could may well have far more sinister undertones.

For example Gaga name is said to be inspired from the Queen track Radio Gaga. The Music video for that song features scenes from Fritz Lang’s 1927 sci-fi movie Metropolis. Metropolis is set in a futuristic urban dystopia and makes use of a science-fiction context to explore a political theme of the day: the social crisis between workers and owners in capitalism.

Telephone is yet another Lady Gaga product permeated with references to mind control and Illuminati symbolism. Gaga’s “commentary” on today’s youth is certainly not a positive one. Burger King in Brazil have taken the personalisation idea a step further by printing the customer’s face on the wrapper of their Whoppers [that's a big burger BTW].

Not sure we’d be too keen on having our face digitally crafted onto our junk food, but it’s a fun gimmick all the same.

Frankly, this too is disturbing. What happened to just the plain old simple condom? Now you have to have them with an audience at the ready to deliver applause? Then again, many hands make light work and you’ll be done and dusted and back to the Super 14 in a jiffy.

A couple of months back we posted pictures of Hollywood starlet Kirsten Dunst dressed up like a Japanese cartoon character for what was suspected to be a music video or an ad shoot.

Turns out it was the former and here is the resulting cheesy tune. It just reminded us how much we really love Hello KItty products!
