The Cove wins best documentary feature Oscar

Using a host of innovative filming techniques, The Cove is a documentary feature that tells the story of ecological genocide in Japan. As the promo copy promises, it looks like the combination of Flipper and The Bourne Identity. It’s one we’ll be looking out for.
Logorama: A short film composed of logos is up for an Oscar

Nominated for a Best Animated Short Oscar is a film called Logorama.
It’s features LOTS of logos – which is sure to make marketing folk very excited. It just makes us hungry

We really wonder who benefits more – the artists with lukewarm careers looking for a bit of PR exposure or the people in Haiti who so badly need help to get back on their feet. Guess it’s better than doing nothing.

Fokofpolisiekar interview
Last night the Cherryflava Peep Show had its debut at the New Space theatre in Cape Town.
A huge word of thanks has to go to Fokofpolisiekar, Justin Bonello, Dave Levinsohn, Zoopy.com, “Nick and Dave”, Sean O from Good Hope FM, Softlight City [for the flashy theme tune], New Space Theatre & the GRAND DADDY Hotel, Tradewinds, and our crew for making things possible.
If you weren’t at last night’s show, you’ll be able to watch the whole thing on Zoopy as of tomorrow.

Tickets for tomorrow night’s Peep Show are now all gone, but the good news for everyone else is that the legends from Zoopy are sending over a full TV broadcast team to record the show. We’ll obviously alert you to when that will be.

We’ve compiled this list of those that we think deserve to be showcased as the best South African Ads of 2009 to date.
