We are the world 2.0 [in 3D] – this time for Haiti
Posted on 09. Feb, 2010 by Jonathan Cherry.
Yup – the music biz is at it again. Singing their hearts out, but this time for Haiti.
We really wonder who benefits more – the artists with lukewarm careers looking for a bit of PR exposure or the people in Haiti who so badly need help to get back on their feet. Guess it’s better than doing nothing.

This philosophy is basically what all of our conferences and workshops are based on. Step away from your desk and get out there for goodness sake.
The Cherryflava Peep Show on Zoopy TV
Posted on 23. Nov, 2009 by Jonathan Cherry.
It’s raw and peppered with foul language, but here’s last week’s Cherryflava Peep Show courtesy of Zoopy.
Part 1/3

Fokofpolisiekar interview
Last night the Cherryflava Peep Show had its debut at the New Space theatre in Cape Town.
A huge word of thanks has to go to Fokofpolisiekar, Justin Bonello, Dave Levinsohn, Zoopy.com, “Nick and Dave”, Sean O from Good Hope FM, Softlight City [for the flashy theme tune], New Space Theatre & the GRAND DADDY Hotel, Tradewinds, and our crew for making things possible.
If you weren’t at last night’s show, you’ll be able to watch the whole thing on Zoopy as of tomorrow.
In the meantime, here are some of the backstage pics.
The Cherryflava Peep Show is now fully booked
Posted on 17. Nov, 2009 by Jonathan Cherry.
Tickets for tomorrow night’s Peep Show are now all gone, but the good news for everyone else is that the legends from Zoopy are sending over a full TV broadcast team to record the show. We’ll obviously alert you to when that will be.

OMEGA 3
Although the SABC can barely afford to broadcast them, there are some really great ads made by South African ad agencies.
We’ve compiled this list of those that we think deserve to be showcased as the best South African Ads of 2009 to date.
With such good work as inspiration, hopefully we can see an improvement in some of the other attempts at product flogging:
Top 10 Best Celebrity Endorsement Ads
Posted on 09. Nov, 2009 by Cassandra.

Hasta la vista, motherf*&ker?
More and more celebrities seem to be trying to get their own slice of the cake making a few ‘extra bucks’ by promoting an outside brand. We’ve seen their faces plastered alongside everything from perfume bottles, to insurance logos.
Ladies and gentlemen, the catalogue is endless, but the quality can sometimes be lacking. Some match, while some don’t.
With that said, we’ve pushed aside the crap, and have come up with our very own Top 10 list of what we think are the best recent celebrity endorsement ads; the crème de la crème if you will…
The art of food innovation: Part 2 – Heston Blumenthal’s Perfect Christmas
Posted on 06. Nov, 2009 by Jonathan Cherry.
Apart from being a brilliant chef, Heston Blumenthal explores the realm of designing a sublime experience in his Christmas special episode of In Search of Perfection.
Do yourself a favour – book out an hour in your diary, grab a steaming cuppa java or a shot of Jagermeister…sit back and absorb the innovative creations of this guy.
Having ourselves a keen interest in the designing of interactions we’ve been raving about this programme for weeks now – so we’re stoked to have finally found it on the web.

The art of food innovation: Part 1 – El Bulli

We’re big Anthony Bourdain fans. A copy of Kitchen Confidential lies in it’s rightful place next to a copy of The Ten Faces of Innovation and the latest copy of Monocle magazine at the Cherryflava HQ ‘reset zone’.
We connect with his hard-drinking, heavy-smoking, excessive use of foul language attitude and really enjoy the episode of his TV show in which he visits the infamous El Bulli. We unfortunately missed Ferran Adria at this year’s Design Indaba, but this short episode gives a good sense of the innovation that is part of the world’s best restaurant.
Invictus movie trailer

So if you haven’t seen it yet, here’s the trailer for the upcoming Clint Eastwood / Morgan Freeman / Matt Damon South African 1995 rugby world cup lovefest.
If this thing and District 9 go through to next year’s Oscars it’ll be a huge peg in the ground for South Africa as an international film industry contender.
