This video is sadly very staged which makes us question the entire thing altogether. But looking past the Oscar performance and canned sound effects, we can see the ember of a engaging interactive idea in there somewhere.
Really gotta worry about a group of people going off at the idea of a stick-figure man removing his trousers. Must be European. Those austerity measures are starting to affect them badly.

To us the execution of this idea is a little bit of an overkill, but it’s an impressive concept all the same. It could have been done just as impressively on far less budget.
Futuristic interactive light sculpture

Looking like something that was stolen from a Borge pimp – this interactive light sculpture is a nice mix of a raw, grinding, gritty, grabable mechanic and a light touch of technological magic.

It’s something we can see our robotics guys getting rather dreamy about. Considering how excited people get about interactive photobooths – adding a photostyle selector unit like this into the mix would equal the ultimate hedonistic party piece.

We’re in Joburg at the moment creating some 3D projection mapping and RFID magic for one of our corporate clients. We’ll be shooting a small video of some of it to show you after it’s all done and dusted on Wednesday. The platform is a corporate conference, the experience of which we have transformed using our background in producing commercial alternate realities and a huge dollop of interactive technology awesomeness.

Volvo Ocean Race 2011: DHL pulls out the ultimate sailing experience

The last time the Volvo Ocean Race was in town, we went and took a few pics of the boats, rode in the interactive simulator and drank one too many Jagermeisters with a drunken sailor crew member of Puma Ocean Racing at Bacini’s.
This time round DHL (one of the main sponsors of the race) have rigged out a yacht, called The Speed of Yellow, that will be taking part in a few races in Table Bay when the field is in town – and will offer spectators the opportunity to experience sailing for real – instead of having to pretend in that simulator thing.
Being an experiential marketing company ourselves we appreciate nothing more than an experience of the real thing. We’re counting sleeps until the start of the race later this month in Spain.

Americans really hate Bank of America

In amongst all of the Occupy Wall Street national protest hullabaloo happening all over the USA – Bank of America proudly announced that they will be increasing the monthly charge to use their bank cards to $5. Just goes to show what they really think of their customers.
All the same – it has now become a national sport to mock and spoof BlackBerry Bank of America. Kinda like the fun we were all having with Cell C not too long ago. Out of touch? Noooo – never really in touch in the first place sadly.

If you live in Cape Town and don’t run / walk on our mountain, you’re literally disrespecting yourself.
