La Muerte Reposado – the tequila for people that don’t drink tequila

Due to a series of extraordinary events, we are not drinking alcohol for the entire month of September. At first – it felt as uncomfortable as having your head held in a bathtub of Shipmate – different, but amusing. But with only fourteen days left till the end of the month, we’re already preparing ourselves for something special to end the dry spell with.
That’s why we have a bottle of La Muerte Reposado in the deep freeze in preparation. It’s tequila, but you’d be let off the hook only once if you treated it the same way you do the rubbish you shoot with a slice of raw lemon to numb the pain of the experience that you do now. It’s the produce of wild organic agave plants in the Karoo that gets distilled like a million times and then allowed to rest and take a long nap in American oak barrels. The result of all of that is that you’re left with a tequila that deserves to be poured over Italian ice cream rather than swallowed like medicine. Over crushed ice and sipped slowly it has a distinct caramel flavour that tastes like sweets [even though it's not sweet] – so best to keep the stuff away from kids cause they’ll lap at it like a dog.
Don’t be fool though – in unskilled hands this stuff will most certainly be responsible for your morning going horribly pear-shaped if you’re not careful. Only somebody like Axl Rose can pull of sucking on the bottle like a dummy and live to tell the tale.
Just fourteen days left.

Hi Jon, where can I get a bottle? It’s seriously one of the sickest label’s I’ve ever seen. I need to get my hands on one and put it alongside my bottle of Hennessy Black – another bottle too beautiful to open. Cheers, Andrew
