Sorry England – the rules are also from the Stone Age

Poor ol’ England should have seen this one coming. The writing was on the wall when Nike insisted on putting up this pre-World Cup sculpture on Cromwell Road in London. It’s a rip off of that Mount Rushmore place in the US. Maybe if they’re rushed more they wouldn’t have gone down so horribly to the Germans.
Oh well – there’s always next time.

None off the players that appeared in the advert have had a good world cup so far really. The american players are out. Rooney had a shocker, Walcott never got picked, Ronaldinho never got picked. Spain struggled to get past the group stage, Ronaldo’s only managed to score one, the 6th in a 7-0 rampage. Ribery had a shocker and got knocked out, Cannavaro’s Italy also got knocked out at the group stage. This has happened before with one of Nikes adverts before a major tournament but I can’t remember which one….
