Chicken Licken and KFC: Pregnant seems to be the flava of the month

We’ve been avoiding talking about this ad on the Cape Talk Ad Feature for some time now, but we just can’t keep it in any longer.
Wonder if Jacob Zuma is spending a lot of time at Chicken Licken. Or maybe licken’ chicken is what got him into trouble in the first place.
KFC are also on the ‘pregnant’ vibe. Is it something in the water? What came first the chicken or the egg?

Have also noticed the whole ‘pregnant’ theme underlying a number of ads and campaigns recently, on TV and in print media…
To my mind, they’re tapping into the mentality that this is the time of year when most people realise that they are actually pregnant. Think about it: When are most babies conceived? Christmas holidays. Fast-forward to 4-6 weeks later, and your woman comes to tell you that she’s late (and not for work). Give it a few days to sink in, and all of a sudden, that’s all that’s on your mind. See an ad with that theme in it, and the brand is gonna stick in your head that much more…
