Tracy McGregor – the face of Njoy
Posted on 19. Jan, 2010 by Jonathan Cherry in Technology
There’s something a little odd about health shops selling a product that gives you a hit of nicotine via an electronic cigarette device, which is now endorsed by a South African model.
Plants use nicotine as a type of poison to protect themselves against insects and humans get addicted to the stuff which has no nutritional benefit. Healthy? Far from it! And in California – the safety of these products is starting to be questioned.
Last year, an FDA analysis found that e-cigarettes contain carcinogens and toxic chemicals – including an ingredient used in anti-freeze. The FDA, which seized several shipments of e-cigarettes, is embroiled in a court battle with e-cigarette manufacturers over whether the agency has the authority to regulate the product.
Nicotine is a drug. If we could get 100% pure Afgan heroin from an electronic dispenser and buy it from Wellness Warehouse, TheSkim would have a permanent smile on his face and we wouldn’t have to worry about putting Clarins dark skin foundation through as a business expense.
Something just doesn’t feel right here. Surely the product should at least warn you about the addictive properties of nicotine?

Don’t know what kind of manager Tracy has, but whoever told her to do this, did serious harm to her career.

I see a trend here – What happens to sportsmen and model when they get jaded – They write books & endorse terrible products, or release a bad sex tape

Nicotine isn’t healthy…but is mostly dangerous in high doses. But the thing that makes the e-cig more healthy than traditional cigs is that they have no tobacco and none of the 4k chemicals that are in traditional cigarettes. They are healthier for smokers (& many people simply don’t want to quit), the ppl around them because there is no 2nd hand smoke and the environment in general (no cig butts, no smoke with tons of chemicals, etc.). I don’t know if smoking will ever be completely healthy but these are def a better alternative.

It doesn’t really matter how small the amount of nicotine is provided – it’s still a harmful addictive drug. The better alternative is to quit ingesting nicotine all together.
If you don’t want to quit – you’ll just carry on smoking normal cigarettes.
The stuff needs to carry warning labels and not be sold in health shops.
