The Goodbye Citi TV ad
Posted on 12. Jan, 2010 by Jonathan Cherry in Advertising
After the mammoth last countrywide road trip that took place last year, the VW Citi Golf is no more…and all that remains are the campfire stories and this ad. It’s sad but true.
We had a similar moment when they stopped making those fish flava’ed chips called Creoles. They smelt worse than the toilets at Clifton 4th on a hot day, but damn were they tasty. There’s probably some lame excuse that the MSG levels in them used to caused conjunctive heart failure in 10 year old’s that’s keeping them from making a return. Pity. Hearts are seriously over-rated as an organ of usefulness.

That ad makes me want to punch myself in the face. Hopefully until I pass out.

Maybe Jack Parow can be the spokesperson for their return. He could add a snappy line or two into his next number.
