I sell Jam Jar in Missouri and it's a monster. We can't keep it in stock and it surely has become the gateway wine for many people expanding their interest outside of Riesling and Moscato.

And Jam Jar have a new package that looks similar but doesn't step on Smucker's crazy toes.

Just a quick follow-up for the marketing geniuses that created the packaging for this wine. I own a wine shop and restaurant in California, and we snapped up the last 40 cases of Jam Jar from our distributor through a forced liquidation. The problem? The cute packaging borrowed so heavily from the classic design of Smuckers Jams (a leading brand in the U.S.), that the company filed a "cease and desist" law suit.

This is not a wine I would ever have any interest in consuming, unless I poured it over vanilla ice cream. Yet there is a large market of people who enjoy this stuff. . .so we give the people what they want.

Good news is we're selling Jam Jar for U.S. $6.99 per bottle when you purchase six or more. Sorry, we don't shop to South Africa.

I visited the Cape Winelands in January and loved your country. Hope to return someday soon!

Not a wine I would purchase for two reasons, the look of the bottle and the fact that , Shiraz is one of my least favorite wines...feeling adventurist I simply asked my waiter for a sweet red... Loved it so took a bottle home...

I really enjoyed Jam Jar from the first taste. I was looking for a red wine that was somewhat sweet , but not too sweet. I found it in Jam Jar. It has just enough kick for the beginning wine lover to the veteran lover of wine.My husband and I have really been enjoying our new find.

I have enjoyed a wide selection of wines due my mentor being a wine enthusiast and myself being intrigued. The marketing on this made me laugh but the occasion called for something Sweet. I picked a Chenin Blanc, Moscato and this Sweet Shiraz. I agree it was inexpensive. However, with every taste as I put my glass back on the table I had to look back a the glass in amazement. Jam Jar was alive, full, appropriately Sweet. It was a delightful Experience. I bid you to explore.

Sweet and red rarely go well together as far as I am concerned. Then again, some would argue that anything to get the Americans drinking wine has to be good.

While the name should suggest it is little more than plonk (much like the term grog or moonshine would), it's an interesting and creative way to market this bottle.

Haven't tried it yet... but for "shits and giggles" I might just have to.

The only sweet red we've ever enjoyed is Fairview's La Beryl. But we're starting to get slightly curious about this stuff. No...no...just kidding.
