Scaly new BMW concept
This concept car done in conjunction with design student Anne Forschner at Pforzheim University in Germany, and BMW looks like it was produced for the Project Runway episode where they had to make an outfit out of post-it notes.
The Lovos (Lifestyle of Voluntary Simplicity) is made up of “scales” which completely cover the vehicle’s exterior. The “scales” are actually solar panels, that when flipped can absorb and collect energy from the sun that can help to power the car’s electric motor. These panels would also work as a new braking system. When all of the panels are flipped at once, they would help to slow down the overall movement of the vehicle.
Not sure how effective the new breaking system would be, but if the concept actually works than kudos to Forschner and BMW.
Shame about the whole look of the Lovos though, it kind of reminds us of a molting bird or someone with extremely dry flaky skin. AND, what’s up with the two giant diamond wedding rings disguised as headlights?

Might take a while to get used to, but they could be on to somethng here…
Just imagine: You’re in a fender-bender, and instead of having to re-mortgage your house just to pay for repairs to your car (because they have to replace entire panels), you can just chuck on a few panels at home yourself..
