New Facebook HQ

When Facebook decided to move out of granny’s garage and get a real office – they chose to do the ‘green’ thing are recycle on old 60′s computer factory. With over 700 employees they needed the space to be functional, but inspiring for the young, trendy geeks at the same time.
Because the new facility houses employees coming from various locations, the company wanted to maintain each division’s distinct identity. The design takes its inspiration from the patchwork nature of Facebook users and employees, bringing together seemingly disparate elements to form a cohesive pattern and using color and interior spacing to create neighborhoods within the open plan space.
Although the idea of recycling an old factory is a noble one, these pics don’t seem to do justice to what we would expect from a company that owns the world. We were expecting a Dr Evil-type lair or at least something that looks like Spector and his henchmen live there.
