Dog’s animated mouth rivals a last night Jaws movie marathon

Toyota have a new ad campaign featuring Buddy – a fast talking Boxer with a bit of an attitude.
We’ve studied the press release and can appreciate the subtle connection between canine and the refined features of the car, but for &^%$ sakes this dog’s animated mouth is bloody freaky.
It’s obviouly cleverly done and the humour of the ad draws a chuckle from the studio, but nightmares are sure to be created from that freaky mouth. As we said on the radio this morning, were we the client – we would have wanted to see a few more creative recs of that mouth before hitting the GO button. It’ll probably grow on us over time, but right now it’s a channel changer.

Personally I think it’s the mouth that makes it work. The concept is pretty so-so and nothing original, not to mention a pretty drab script, voice and overall execution.
The smile at the end cracks me up.

I agree with the above commenter. I was not that impressed till the end – then I was laughing! Now I watch the ad just to see the end.
The newer one (Hilux) is better though – especially the line “what a chop”!
