Heineken does good

True story. One of the hooligans in our office bought a case of Heineken for his bar at home.
When he cracked open the first bottle – doh – beer's flat. After a rather bleak evening without a bracingly cold green beer in his hands, he pens a letter to Heineken outlining his overwhelming sadness.

In response, Heineken South Africa sent him literally a truck load of free Heineken gear to kit for his bar. Ice buckets, flags, a huge neon sign and even slipslops for crying out loud. You name it, he's got it.

Clearly a celebratory party was called for and one of the lovely girls arrived with a specially baked and iced Heineken cake to thank the good Heineken gods for their kind and generous gesture. The gods smiled on them that night and ever since, our young hooligan hasn't stopped raving about his favourite beverage and the stylin' people that run it.

Nice one Heineken. You saw an opportunity to make young hooligan feel like a rockstar and seized it.

Now can we chat about our office and in particular an empty area of it which would look just great with a snappy little fridge filled with frosty green bottles in it?

1000 drawings is a one night exhibition made possible by everybuddy out there donating A5 drawings .
Drawings are sold for R100 with all the money going to charity.

If our Mac doesn't start behaving itself we're going to cut an A5 sized slice of it out and draw exactly what we think of it for submission. That'll count, yes?

News now is that Georgia May Jagger, the 17 year old daughter of legendary British rocker Mick Jagger and supermodel Jerry Hall, has been recruited to be the new advertising face of Hudson Jeans.

We've never heard of Hudson Jeans and had no idea that Mick Jagger was capable of producing children after wearing such tight crotch-hugging pants all through the 70's, but as a choice of a celebrity face of a jeans brand Ms Jagger is an inspired one.

Biblioteq is a Cape Town art bookstore which recently relocated from Kloof Street to the Loading Bay near the Cape Quarter.

To draw awareness to the move – the folk over at frank wonderment, Lowe Bull’s design company, created this interesting bookshelf. The agency designed and created a square font that, when enlarged and constructed, spells out Biblioteq.

Can you see it big boy? Look real careful. Yeeeeeesssssssss. Love the inclusion of the AK-47. Always comes in handy during home time in Claremont or on shopping trips to Canal Walk it seems

Lance Armstrong’s Tour de France Art bikes

The Tour de France is now over for another year. No drugs were found – yet, but did you happen to notice the tricked out art bikes Lance was abusing on the 'special' stages?

The bike he rode yesterday into Paris was designed using real butterflies – to save weight and all that.

To help give Lance an extra boost across the finish line in this year's
Tour de France, Hirst customized a Trek Madone with a gorgeous array of
real butterflies from the frame down to the Bontrager rims, which also
bear a repeating pattern of the willowy creatures. Eschewing the
traditional LIVESTRONG yellow in favor of bright shocking pink logos
all around, Hirst brings even more attention to the cause in a
colorscheme that can be easily read at nearly any distance (or speed).
