Freaky: The streets are alive thanks to the world’s first augmented reality browser

In what can only be described as 'a glimpse into the future', Layar is billed to be the world's first augmented reality browser designed for your mobile phone.
The browser displays real-time digital information about things that you spot around you in the street when you point your phones camera at them.
For example – point your phone at a hotel in Long Street and it'll supply a digital layer on top of the image of your phone with room rates and availability.
Sound like something that may be useful? Abso-frikkin-lutely. Check out the video here.
It's presently only being trialed in Holland, but give it a bit of time to iron out the kinks and 'search' could have a whole new meaning. [via PSFK]
