Adidas have been busy

Since our last rampage due to the perceived lack of creative vooma associated with the upcoming FIFA World Cup, we’ve been extra vigilent about spotting anything remarkable.
Easing the pain slightly, Adidas sent us pictures and words about Kopanya – meaning ‘together’ – the match ball which will be used in next year’s Confederations
Cup. [thanks Gennaro]
Now also from Adidas, but produced by one of their international agencies, a series of videos clearly designed to be shared in ‘a viral type manner’.
They feature Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard kicking balls at clay pigeons, Togolese footballer playing a video game with his shoe, Real Madrid footballer Arjen Robbenwatching his shoes get a mysterious tune up and German footballer Michael Ballack kicking balls. [via Adrants]
Fluff aside – if our team can manage to play like this, they’ll have fans in all corners.

Now to go into Soweto, Kwa Mashu, Umlazi, Bisho, Gugulethu, Khayelitsha etc and make sure that as many budding soccer stars as possible have one of these balls. That’s of course if the objective is to build and increase brand equity in the market that is more likely to support “soccer retailers and manufacturers” beyond 2010.
