The Mini pocket rocket billboard
Posted on 20. Sep, 2007 by Jonathan Cherry in Advertising
We’re big fans of image projection in urban spaces…..those being movies and stuff shown on the side of buildings, like those guerrilla movies and the open source cinema idea.
So naturally this building billboard for Mini which was done in Germany excites us.
Apparently competitors of Mini were so upset with how well this thing worked – they had it banned after just three days of running.
We’ve got a feeling it might have been because the intense light of the projectors was probably burning the paint off the structure. [check out a video of how it works here]
Seeing that our local authorities are not too keen on traditional outdoor hoardings, the opportunities for city building campaigns in Cape Town during the lead up to that World Cup thing in a couple of years time is huge.
…and more from Mini – a guerrilla’d zebra crossing
…and…automatic doors which demonstrate the new boot design. Lovely.
[thanks to Kim for sending these in, all were found over at Billboardom]
