A marketer’s wet dream is happening on YouTube right now.
The new official Nintendo Wii commercial is breaking YouTube viewing records.
Daily winners usually chart between 20,000-60,000 views; the Wii
commercial? It’s been viewed 738,986 times — and counting — making it
the most watched video anywhere on YouTube.
Embedding has been disabled – so you can join the global queue over at YouTube here.
All those people lining up to see your ad – and not a media penny in sight.
Just makes us want to shout ‘Hallelujah’.

Have to agree with you there Johnson. Obviously just massive hype for the product driving traffic to the ad.

Have you perhaps thought about the amount of money Nintendo payed Google/Youtube to ensure it was a success!

Perhaps a stupid question, but what’s the logic behind disabling embedding? Why would Nintendo (or its marketers) want to cap the ad’s obvious viral potential? All I can come up with is an issue relating to YouTube server capacity or something, but I know close to shit about that stuff.
