Thank goodness for Vida and the elimination of the hassle of having to brew your own damn coffee.
This vintage ad just illustrates the desperation some felt about receiving a decent cuppa joe.
Jeez – see, it wasn’t just slavery and the shows on SABC 1 that were a torture in days of old.
Choose the wrong flippin’ brand of coffee and your loving, Brill-creamed oke suddenly turned into a desired filled dominatrix with the focused intention of delivering a serious beating.
Makes you wonder – if this dude was giving such severe punishment for a coffee brand infringement, what happened when the poor chick lost his sock or burnt his shirt?
Now this, is great advertising.
Put the living fear of God into your target market and make sure they fully comprehend that if your brand is not their first choice – there’ll be hell to pay.
Hold the phone – isn’t that the exact strategy of some well known local monopolies and a powerful government or two?
