Advertising around the world seems to follow a similar creative trend.
One of South Africa’s best creative directors, Porky Hefer, once told us that when your brain produces a thought – it goes into the collective global creative realm..and if you don’t use it quickly, someone else will.
On the local front; Nedbank are / have been running a campaign [TV and outdoor} built on the idea that everyone has a basic need to be an entrepreneur at heart - just listen to your inner voice.
Now Land Rover are taking their similar concept of 'Go Beyond' to the next level in a new ad campaign and related minisite. [via]
The ad is long and perhaps a bit like a Deepak Chopra seminar, but it touches a nerve. Its good advertising. Life is an adventure, not a nine-to-five, air-conditioned hell hole of pointless 3-hour meetings and fluorescent light tans. Get out, see more, take the wrong turn, do more.
Make people question the status quo and then offer a solution – an alternative, a choice.
Stunning production work, excellent grading and narrated by Ewan McGregor – this is one of the best ads we’ve seen this year. Stunning.
