Design our own luggage tags

Commercial airlines are generally fairly bland.
There’s not really much to differentiate one brand from another, other than the colour of the plane and the amount of money you pay to be squashed into a vein-restricting seat to be served rubber eggs.
Pouncing on the emerging business trend of engaging users into the brand experience – KLM recently introduced a new concept that allows passengers to design their own luggage labels, free of charge.
When booking a flight via www.klm.nl passengers get the chance to
design two luggage labels, using their own images or a pre-defined
image from a KLM gallery.
Luggage labels and straps are subsequently sent to passengers who
submit their designs at least two weeks before departure.
So, for the minimal cost of setting up the site and organising the actual printing of the labels – KLM will save heaps of money by reducing the number of wrongly-picked-up passenger bags and will drive demand from travelers looking for something a bit different. [via]
