Small Cape Town coffee shop taps into the Next Net
Posted on 22. Jun, 2006 by Cassandra in Streetflava
Cape Town is full of coffee shops.
Most serve fairly good coffee, eggs and bacon, WiFi and a bill for their effort in a scuffed Diners Club folder.
One small outlet in Seapoint has fired up a blog and starting a small Cape Town social networking revolution in the process.
It’s called the Caffeine Business Network Club and we have to say that their choice of positioning themselves in a niche is quickly developing their coffee shop into the place to meet for entrepreneurs.
We’re going to go do one of those ‘mystery shopper’ visits to see how good the coffee is, but their social networking idea is a cracker.
On their blog they state that if you write about them – they’ll treat you to a free coffee and muffin.
We want a muffin named after us – a Cherryflava muffin. It’s served hot and fresh – made in Cape Town daily.

Having issues with the trackback – oh well… Thanks for the writeup! Cool idea, we’re working on some kind of Blackforest cherryflava muffin already. Next business-network/thinktank is in a couple of weeks – see you then (if not sooner) for that muffin & coffee we promised!

Hey, sorry I missed your visit but it’s probably best that you get an unadulterated view of what we are doing. Also, starting tomorrow, the 3rd of July, we will be running a “CherryFlava” muffin which will be part of our entry into the Cape Town Chocolate Festival. Judging for our shop is on Tuesday at noon so if you guys want to make a personal appearance (or a physical threat to the judges) stop by the Riebeek Street shop.
