City venture 2
Posted on 22. May, 2006 by Jonathan Cherry in Pictures
This is the second series of shots from the Cherryflava / Gosu photoventure in and around the city of Cape Town.
If you take the time – there are millions of unbelievable shots to be taken around the station area and the Golden Acre.
Huge thanks to Jason from Gosu for the collaboration – the first of many. Watch out for the next one.

I’m loving the top one of the postbox! Very cool!
How ’bout a little word on the techniques used, specifically the camera settings like color profile, exposure compensation and if they were photoshopped, what was done?
Ta!

Capdog – the camera settings were fairly standard stuff. Auto white balance, spot metering for most shots, aperture priority mode all on a Nikon D70 handheld with an 18 -70mm kit lens.
In Photoshop I really played around with the curves and contrasts of the images. In this series I used a gradient layer in the first and the last shots just to create a bit of definition in the backgrounds that were slightly burnt out in the original.
Clearly this is not exactly the most detailed breakdown of the process, but on the technical side I never tend to pay much attention to my workflow.
