Are cracks appearing in the Oprah brand? Are people questioning her integrity – has she endorsed one too many products?
Hell it was only the other day that we found out that DSTV’s Channel O wasn’t owned by Oprah.
Disappointing sure – but now that she lied about being Zulu?

Cherryflava are still taking it all in at the Design Indaba.
We’ll be back in full force next week, but in the mean time – had a presentation from NY-based web trend guru at the indaba. He’s the guy that came up with that viral video called ‘How to dance properly’.
…we did – and we’re going to put the moves to good use at tonight’s Red Bull DI9 afterparty.

If you’ve been watching the Winter Olympics in Italy, you’ll probably have noticed most of the competitors walking around with those annoying little white earphones plugged into their brains…getting into the right frame of mind with a touch of Metallica.
Why even we here at Cherryflava slap on a bit of Barbara Streisand to rev us up for a really big posting.
It’s almost as if Apple are a sponsor of the games the way the athletes are flaunting their products around the place.

We have to agree with the sentiment going around that if Apple want to attract snowboarders – they should design a roach clip for the back of the iPod, team up with the guys from Atomic to amend the exterior design and let the carving begin.

It’s a beeeg week in Cape Town if you’re in anyway connected to an industry that has to think creatively.
Essentially that’s everyone….but if you are working for Eskom or the traffic department, we understand that thinking is not really your strong point and you’re excused from attending the 9th Design Indaba at the CTICC.
If you’re not lucky enough to attend the conference, make sure you go check out
We went last year – was well worth the effort. Hopefully there will be power to light this year’s event, perhaps the organisors should consider a more first-world location going forward.

As useful as they are entertaining, the girls over at sister blog have been busy, and it’s not only their growing fan base that’s taking notice.
Stepping up to the plate and positioning themselves as a pioneer in terms of South Africa blog advertising – the girls have launched ‘Lush Loves’ to accommodate sponsorship opportunities… and have promptly landed leading woman’s retailer Me Jane.
Not wanting to just carry banner ads that add nothing to reader enjoyment, ….testing the whole concept of ‘tryvertising’.
So far, advertising on South African blogs has been very much a low-key affair, team Lusharazzi could be blazing a brand new blog media trail.

Watching Sky News or CNN is kind of old school now.
If you’re in a rush, and need to know what’s going down right now on planet earth….then here’s your solution.
A design graduate from Holland has put together – New stories are highlighted on the map, and a balloon appears with a
headline; clicking on the balloon sends you to the source of the story.
We agree with trendsite that the reader is not as good as the original and the South African news stories seem a bit dated, but it beats the hell out of watching that weird guy with his false toothy smile on SABC 3….and we like the bubbles. It’s like an online lava lamp. []
