iTunes for Christmas

Jeez…this place is starting to look like one big ad for Apple.
We will stop…. right after we tell you about the latest golden delicious rumour doing the rounds right now.
iTunes could be launched in South Africa in time for Christmas this year.
There was talk about the online music store hitting our shores in May already, but with the launch of the new iTunes Motorola phone.…the talk is getting louder.
So now at least, you’ll have something to put on that fancy new iPod Nano that you’ve just ordered….instead of just downloading tons of your old Crowded House CDs onto the thing.
Cherryflava has also noticed that Musica has discontinued their attempt at online music retail. That crappy, very un-userfriendly store has gone. Hopefully the new iTunes store will have better success here.
Hmmmm…..just to make sure we get what we want….we’ll send this off immediately.
‘Dear Father Christmas
All of us at the Cherryflava HQ have been really good all year long and
would just love to be able to not have to go to crappy music stores in Cavendish to
buy music that we don’t really want. Ag pleez can we have a lekker iTunes store to buy lots of sweet sounds cheap cheap.

As much as I would love the idea of iTunes being in South Africa at last, the article linked to in “..in time for Christmas” does not mention anything about the iTunes store being available in South Africa, except for the very lame and misleading title.
The whole article is just about the ROKR phone possibly being released here, and is pretty much a Motorola ad.

You’re right Hannes…that Biz-community article is misleading. Now that we read more carefully, it’s clear that Motorola SA is trying to get some free PR.
Guess we’ll just have to keep track of events on the Apple SA site which still states that…† The iTunes Music Store is not yet available to South Africa. The iTunes Podcast Directory is accessible through iTunes.
