Superman dies

I’m sure everybody who was a kid in the early eighties will be shocked to hear that Christopher Reeve….Superman, died at his New York home last night.
Reeve fell into a coma Saturday after going into cardiac arrest while at his New York home, his publicist, Wesley Combs told The Associated Press by phone from Washington, D.C., on Sunday night.
Cherryflava still remembers the day Superman 2 was released here is South Africa. It was like the movie of the decade. The special effects were magical, the music inspirational and nobody was more made for the role than Christopher Reeve.
Superman: The Movie is singularly the best superhero movie ever made. It treats its subject matter seriously. It has a good plot, and man, what a cast.
In those days, the kids were so obsessed it just was not uncommon to wear your own Superman suit for an entire weekend.
So…from all of us who ran around leafy gardens wearing blue suits with revealing red underwear….we bid you farewell. We always believed that you could fly.

Here is to the man who more than just played his character, he lived his superhero character. He is, was and always will be our Superman.
On the screen, off the screen, and even though he has finally met his Kryptonite, he will always be Superman to us.
