Red….i think those lines are there to keep that pole standing up. That mass of twigs is a huge birds nest that houses a couple of hundred finches. Amazing to see.

the nests are sometimes 2 meters or more across. In summer htey sometimes catch fire from the sheer heat of the sun’s rays.
