On the way to Mozambique from Cape Town, the Cherryflava touring party decided to go check out the Apartheid museum in Johannesburg. What we found was a place which is not only designed brilliantly – but really captures the history of our country through well thoughtout multi-media platforms.
If you live in Johannesburg, or visit the city – this is a must see.

As a South African…the perception we have of our eastern neighbour is generally a negative one. The place has been hammered by civil war, a couple of hurricanes and generally is regarded as one of the poorest countries on the planet…but physically going there, Cherryflava was pleasantly surprised.
The flight from Joburg to Maputo is a snappy 50min express on the country’s carrier, LM airlines. In fact, the trip was so snappy, we actually got there a couple of minutes early…who would have thought that was possible.

It’s a long weekend in SA, so Cherryflava has decided to take a bit of a break and head to Mozambique to chillout on a beach where the water is warm enough to swim.
So we’ll be back on Wednesday next week…till then, check out the other legendary sites that we link to on the left.
As a parting shot, here’s a bit of a scoop on some security guard heavy-handedness at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront. This poor dancer obviously didn’t have a permit to work the V&A and this security ‘official’ felt it necessary to relieve the young guy of his drum in full view of tourists and my big Nikon lens. Busted.
Have a good weekend.

Cherryflava just loves a good marketing strategy…and George Lucas is one such genius.
Geeks accross the world are beaming with the news that Lucas studios have just released the in time for Christmas. Star Wars, The Empire strikes back and Return of the Jedi- plus a whack of bonus material- is being marketed by Lucas as the ‘holy grail’ of DVD trilogy’s to every home theatre user’s collection.
But the fun doesn’t stop there for geeks seeking a Star Wars fix, Lucas Arts have also just released a new video game called . Join Luke and Han in their quest to rid the galaxy of the evil empire and live out your wildest dreams.
that:
what’s really setting the message boards on fire is confirmation from Lucasfilm that it’s working on a live-action TV show to air sometime in 2006. Not much is known what the show will be about, but most of the big rumors seem to be that it will be set during the time period between Episode Three and Episode Four and centers >around Boba Fett, an idea we think we could work in a gritty 70′s cop show, Starsky & Hutch/Baretta kind of way (we picture lots of wah-wah pedals on the soundtrack as the credits blare the title of the show: “Fett!”).
If you’re a parent and have just forked out R850 to have your offspring annoy shoppers at your local mall on their , just prepare yourself for this much wanted audiovisual scifi feast.
The amazing thing is that the original movie was release in 1977, the time at which most of the parents of today’s fans were being born. And still….the hits just keep on rolling for the Star Wars brand.

If you own a Playstation…pat yourself on the head. Now here’s the inside track on a game for your machine which is gonna make it burn baby.
If you love driving at insane speeds through the city streets, get a kick out of smashing into other cars and watching them explode in the collision, tailgating and cutting other drivers off is the reason you live in Joburg? is the investment for you. The most respected gaming site on the net gave this sweet ride a score of 9,4.
You have never played a racer like Burnout 3: Takedown, and it would be an absolute crime if you went on living that way. Criterion’s relentless ambitions for its arcade-inspired franchise, combined with Electronic Arts’ steadfast production values, have paved the way for a true breakthrough in the amped-up racing genre. Burnout 3 offers up insane speed, unequaled crash sequences, and a truly new style of gameplay. It has reinvented the wheel, so to speak.
We do not hesitate to say, then, that this is one of the best games there is — not just of 2004 — but of this generation.
It’s just been released in SA…and you can probably get the best prices at either or (no this is not a sponsored feature).
Cherryflava has just received a loan copy from a friend for a Tuesday night review….will let you know.

What kind of a survey is this? These results are nothing more than a popularity contest as voted by the majority of the SA population. It’s got nothing to do with how effective of powerful a brand is. What a load of crap. Obviously people’s opinions count, but wouldn’t it have been more useful if the people being sampled were experts on brands and not just ordinary laymen reciting names which come to mind?
