Forget about the upgrading of public transport in this country…the future of transportation is now.
Solution 1, is the . Combine Star Wars with Buck Rogers and just a dash of the Fifth Element and you’ve got the next trend in personal ‘high-speed’ transportation.
Solution 2: . It’s appartently all the rage in the US…a small lightweight fully functional miniture motorbike which can go really fast.
“They’re fast, they’re fun, and you can take them everywhere,” says Mini Motors owner Robert Ionko, who charges about $400 for the 50-pound machines. “You’d think they’d be just for kids, but we’ve seen folks from 18 to 50.”
Nice…two of those please. [Thanks Helen]
But, if you’re not ready to exchange your petrol junkie Hilux double cab and a third for either option one or two…Cherryflava’s has come true….it’s the

“Consumers love a knob more than anything, especially in a car where your primary focus is on operating the vehicle,” said Witt.
To true.
Now you don’t have to get to work via the subway or the tube to have over 10000 of your favourite slowjams at your fingertips. The only catch is that for now it only works on Alpine systems, but the rest should follow.

Australians are masters of mind games. The games before Saturday’s big game against the Springboks in Perth are -
Wallaby coach Eddie Jones was lavish in his praise of the Springboks yesterday, saying they were easily the most formidable South African side since Nick Mallett was in charge between 1997-2000.
Jones’s view was backed up by former Wallaby No.8 Toutai Kefu, who rated them as the best to come out of South Africa for “three or four seasons”.
Kefu said South Africa had resurrected a formidable forward pack with which they would take on Australia up front.
“They’re not stupid,” Kefu said. “They know our backs are where our strength is, so they’ll definitely keep it away from there. They’ll run big forwards at [Wallabies five-eighth] Stephen Larkham, make him tackle, make him work harder, and any opportunity out wide they’ll take. The South Africans will be a lot more ruthless than the Kiwi pack.”
So..it seems like the Aussies are seriously worried, and rightly so. Here are the .

So…this Monday is the first Cherryflava Sundowners event.
Cherryflava made a bit of a hash of the invite…Monday (this coming Monday) is actually the 2nd of August not the 3rd. Oh, well…whatever.
Po Na Na will be getting out the fine China and a few light snacks for us…so book your diary now for a short, sharp, classic two hours.

Whoa…the Sketchers brand is super HOT. And to prove it, their ad agency has contracted singer Christina Aguilera to appear in their latest print ads.
There are three ads in the series which will run internationally beginning in August. Each ad shows double images of Aguilera. The firts portrays Aguilera as a nurse aiding a patient, the second shows her as teacher and student and the third shows her getting some legal treatment from herself dressed as we wished all police officers would dress – well, at least the hot ones.
These days there’s no need to buy FHM, just check out international footwear ads. Check out all three . [Via ]
Sex may sell, but does it build a brand? Cherryflava will be sure to ask Madonna that next time we meet.

Pierce Brosnan is every man’s dream job. He’s clearly tired of driving fast cars and sleeping with beautiful woman. Pity.
Hollywood’s latest marketing trick…act cheap. Lindsay Lohan is really good at it and here’s her latest stunt .
The Wallabies are ahead of this weekend’s clash with the Bokke. Run you little yellow bastards. Os is upset Brendon Cannon isn’t playing.
White said he was unconcerned by the reporter’s suggestion that Wallaby coach Eddie Jones could use the photo as “ammunition” ahead of Saturday’s Test.
“Let him use it. I’ll ask him where Brendan Cannon is.

You might have heard about the apparent 419 credit card fraud thing recently. Apparently, a Nigerian group hacked their database and stole a whole lot of credit card info which they are now selling.
It was advised by our own SAPS that all South African’s who had done business with Ebay should cancel their credit cards immediately. Now there’s confusion…nobody knows what’s going on. It seems …is .
Since the first report appeared in Beeld, sister newspaper of News24 and subsequently on News24, News24 has raised several questions regarding the website. Points of contention included:
The fact that the website is hosted independently of the official SAPS website;
The fact that the website does not have a .gov.za suffix like other government-affiliated websites;
The fact that there is no direct link from the SAPS commercial crimes unit website to the 419legal website;
The fact that any checks done against credit card numbers on the website were not done on a secure server (after queries by News24 this has subsequently been changed and all checks are now being conducted via secure server)
Ebay is saying that it’s Impossible to hack their database. IMPOSSIBLE is a strong statement.
So…go figure…you’ve all been scammed.

It’s the middle of winter in Cape Town and balmy summer evening picnics on the beach seem a lifetime away. But don’t dispair, because to beat the winter blues Cherryflava is throwing the first ever Cherryflava Sundowners next week Monday 2 August at the Po Na Na Souk Bar, Heritage Square. [The ad is wrong...Monday is in fact the 2nd of August]
Po Na Na is a classy, slick, stylish Moroccan-style venue in the heart of the city, it’s seriously world-class stuff, and they’ve agreed to make their awesome venue exclusively available to us.
Due to the Sundowners being of a strictly ‘after-work’ kind of vibe, we’ll start at 6pm and end at 8…so that you can be home in time to catch Frasier. So come around early…we’ll make sure that it’s worth your while.
So this is your chance to meet some other bloggers, new people, people that you know, mix, mingle, network, who knows….bring yourself and everybody that you know and come and enjoy a few Sundowners Cherryflava-style.
Hope to meet you there.

It’s a good thing that is situated on the palatial grounds of one of the Cape’s oldest wine estates, because the place is huge. Everything inside the building is also really massive.
Fortunately the clever designers of the place were experienced enough to use large slate floor tiles and an impressively over-sizes glass fireplace, to bring the interior together.
Cherryflava started the evening in the goldfish bowl-like bar area with a few quiet beverages. This also serves as the restaurant’s smoking area…but if you are requiring the luxury of dragging on a branded herb, you will do so in an extremely edgy and inviting setting. The bar flows through to the main floor which is flanked on one side by an industrial, open plan, stainless steel kitchen and toped by a cathedral-like ceiling.
Being on a wine farm, it would have been rude not to plunder their extensive cellar, so we got going on bottles of Groot Constantia Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Zevenwaght Tin Mine and a Saxenburg Merlot. All three were world-class choices, but considering the rainy conditions…the first option had to go to the silky smooth Merlot.
For main coarse the decision went the way of the nut crusted fillet mignon…and what a seriously excellent decision that was. This was by far the best steak ever produced. Soft, juicy and more like the texture of butter then meat. Tasty.com
Price wise, Simon’s is very reasonable. It might just be that it’s the middle of winter and restaurants are trying to attract clientele, but for our party of four it was great value.
It’s not really a venue for an intimate third date, but wait for a rainy Cape evening, gather a couple of good friends and head to Simon’s. You’ll probably love it.
