OK, so you think petrol is more expensive than if you had to fill your car with Jack Daniels…here’s the analysis of the price the Americans pay for their ‘gas’. Working on an exchange rate of R6.90.
Diet Snapple $2.74 per litre (R18.90)
Lipton Ice Tea $2.53 per litre (R17.45)
Gatorade $2.70 per litre (R18.63)
Ocean Spray $2.66 per litre (R18.35)
Brake Fluid $8.93 per litre (R61.61)
Vick’s Nyquil $47.32 per litre (R326.50)
Pepto Bismol $32.73 per litre (R225.84)
Whiteout $6.75 per litre (R46.57)
Scope $22.44 per litre (R154.83)
Evian Water $5.63 per litre (R38.83)

What is Cherryflava missing here? The witty angle on this would have been, aren’t you glad your car does’nt run on Vicks Nytol…but now it seems like SA pays less for petrol than the US does. Is it possible?
After more investigation here is a list of current European petrol prices.
According to this list US price of fuel is $0.46 (R3.17). French fuel price is 1.02 euros (R8.12)…aren’t you glad you don’t live in Paris.
