<description>I have been a resident of Orania for the past 11 years. The innuendo that we in Orania try to ignore the fact that we are part of South Africa is ridiculous. We have a good relationship with the government, and the ANC premier of our province recently visited our town and was impressed by what she found - especially our willingness to contribute to the rest of SA.
By the way, one Ora is worth one SA rand. A local currency is a powerful instrument in the hands of a community to advance its own development and to exclude corporate crime. Worldwide there are hundreds of such currencies. It is definitely not a desperate method of isolation.
