Charlize wins…so do Stormers and Bulls

It was definately a South African weekend.
Our own blonde Benoni bombshell took game at the Oscars, with her portrayal of a serial killer in the movie, Monster.
AP reports:
“In “Monster,” Theron was virtually unrecognizable, packing on 30 pounds and concealing her cover-girl beauty behind false teeth, splotchy makeup and dark contact lenses.“I know everybody in New Zealand’s been thanked, so I’m going to thank everybody in South Africa, my home country,” said Theron, who had been generally regarded as a lightweight actress before “Monster.” Her earlier credits include “The Cider House Rules,” last summer’s heist caper “The Italian Job” and such flops as “Reindeer Games” and “Sweet November.”
Reuters reports:
Although she was favored to win, Theron was still stunned and broke down in tears and embraced her mother before ascending to the stage to take the gold statuette from last year’s Best Actor award winner Adrien Brody (news).
“I’m going to thank everybody in South Africa, my home country,” Theron said. “They are all watching tonight and I’m bringing this home next week.”
Meanwhile on the other side of the planet…the Stormers actually managed to beat the Highlanders 46-25, after being down 25-14 at halftime. Somebody must have put something in their Powerade at the break, because it was a different team which took the field. They actually played half recognisable rugby for a change.
The Bulls also took charge of the Hurricanes, but then the boys in yellow looked like they were still sleeping back at the hotel. A schoolboy team could have put up more of a fight.
