Check it…the dogs down at Microsoft have released a new programme called Microsoft Word Yo.

Da new version is kicking it with da gangstas and how da brothas talk. Major input was sucked out of top artists by Snoop, LL Cool J and 50. The version is totally up to date with luxury brands like Cristal, Gucci, Ferrari and Mercedes. Terms like bitch, bling, ho and hood will also not be rejected by the software’s spell checker.

The release of the new Word version has totally tapped into a new market of gangstas who were previously not part of the computer and technology mix.

So what’s next from the world’s biggest software gang? Microsoft Project in Arabic?

Cheap Clifton houses

Compaired to property prices in New York, Clifton beach houses are a steal. According to the Manhatten Market report…

1994-2003 showed the average price for a Gotham apartment was a staggering $872,160 (R 5 407 392) last year – up 93.8 percent from the 1994 average of $450,084 (R2 790 520).

Further to this, in New York you are going to have to stand in a queue to offload your large bundle of cash.

“There were just 4,843 apartments available for sale at the end of 2003 – a 19 percent decline from the 5,977 that were available the year before.”

So now you know, it’s no wonder that foreigners are coming over here and buying stupidly prices houses.

How handy is this? The guys from Google have just brought out a new search device for shoppers…called Froogle.

Now you can search the world’s massive internet marketplace for the best prices on just about anything. Naturally Cherryflava had to give the engine a test run…and here is what we got.

Heaven on earth

It has been said that on the way to Zambia you pass through heaven. No wonder the colonialists decided to set up shop in a place that is almost too awesome to comprehend in one visit.

The intoxicating heat holds you in a vice like friendly hug while every afternoon is celebrated with the most entertaining and spectacular of nature’s shows. Thunder and lighting dance across the massive sky to the beat of golfball-sized raindrops which bury themselves quickly into the dry, red earth.

Get used to sharing your holiday with the main stars of national geographic shows. Don’t be suprised if a herd of zebra greet you at your door in the mornings and wild monkeys scamper off with the sugar from your breakfast table.

There are definately worse ways to spend your time.

Bling cars

The guys on ‘the flats’ have always felt a bit cheated by the Hotwheels which just kind of lacked personality i.e K&N airfilter modifications and a branch or two.

Well now there are Blings which come complete with oversized wheels, muscled bodies and loud, unabashed colors like Hummer Yellow and Pimpin’ Purple. (The name Blings comes from ‘bling bling’, which is hip-hop speak for diamonds, jewelry and other expensive stuff that will impress and intimidate your environment. As a phrase, it was recently added to the Oxford English Dictionary, yet another sign of hip-hop massification. Springwise is sure you knew this, but just in case). In HotWheels’ own words: “Cause when you’re rollin’ down the street, it’s all about the Blings, baby!”

Club Thailand

When was the last time you felt really special when travelling?
Do those phoney ‘gold class’ airport lounges make you feel like just another cash cow greeted by airline staff with fake cheesy grins.

Well the government of Thailand has a great idea to make you feel even better about spending your hard earned rands in their awesome country.

“Consumers love their loyalty cards, frequent flyer perks and restricted access VIP lounges. Now what about the ultimate in MASSCLUSIVITY: becoming a privileged member of the country of Thailand (mind you, not citizen, but member!), including your own Thai Elite Card?
A world’s first, membership earns card holders benefits and discounts all over the kingdom, ranging from fast-track immigration at Don Muang Airport, heavy discounts on Thai Airways (buy one, get one free), special rates at five-star hotels, free golf at several courses, free limousine transfers, 24-hour concierge service, free spa treatments and medical check-ups, and five-year multiple entry visas that allow the cardholder to stay in Thailand for 90 days.

And it gets even better: next year (2005) will see hotels like the Thailand Elite Boutique Hotel, golf clubs, and entertainment centers that would be exclusive only to card holders. Perhaps most intriguingly, members can also ‘purchase’ second homes in Thailand. As foreigners aren’t allowed to own land in Thailand, purchases would be in the name of Thailand Privilege Co., the entity that runs the Thailand Elite program on behalf of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The state tourist body, which is overseeing the promotion, hopes to sign up at least 10,000 wealthy visitors to the program by the end of next year. Thailand’s president, Thaksin Shinawatra, has predicted that 200,000 members could eventually join. That’s a lot of newly minted Thai ambassadors!”
